Ichi is a lone goze (blind woman singer) who has become separated from her traveling entertainment troupe. Wondering how she will find her place in life, she carries only a shamisen (a traditional Japanese stringed instrument) and a walking stick with a hidden blade inside. When necessary, she uses her exceptional sword skills to fight off yakuza and other villains.

People might be confused but I believe this already finished. This story is I believe based on the novel called Zatoichi (the novel main character is blind swordsman but manga author change it to woman) but the novel author died. So that's why this story end like this.
A really good one, I've already tried to prepare my heart because there are no romance tag, still I really love the leads together and would love to see them together. I love each characters' emotions and personalities. Scenes and plot are reasonable and the development was great. Just one dissapointment--the ending was so abrupt, many long- term case and problems are not resolved at all and there are still many potential interactions and scenes that haven't show up yet. It's like the story was cut out in the middle then was written "the end" at the last page. Still, I love both of the leads. The female lead was a solitary person, cool, strong, and pretty. Definitely isn't a shy romance-craving woman or a self-righteous trouble-maker girl. She is amazing, and her partner is also cool, strong, and fun.

Wow, finally read something worthwhile. Thank you and i hope i can find more of these. Great storyline and character development. It doesn't feel like other cliffhangers do. Extremely underrated.
I love this story; seinen is definitely awesome. This is the kind of story that made me actually expect more from shoujo mangas. Girls should be strong. I mean, they really are. People don't give them enough credit. And I don't mean just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. Don't wait around for a guy to save you, save yourself! I love Ichi, she's the kind of person I aspire to be. Strong, kind, smart, and she does all this in spite of not being able to see the world around her. I do agree, since I am a hopeless romantic, that there should be more of a romance, but that's okay, that's what my imagination is for. :) note, there is a Japanese movie that's called Ichi. I'm not sure whether it was based on this or if this was based on the movie. The movie's not as good as the manga, but I do believe it's worth the watch, just to see everything in real life.
please!I beg of you! please update this manga! i have become interested in this manga very much so please update it soon and also please add some romance to the story Ichci and the she had traveled with...i think it would be a little more interesting besides that please update this story is soo interesting!
