I've watched the movie and read the manga and it's crazy how much this movie reminded me of my childhood, the nostalgia was really unexpected. Overall one of my favorites of all time it leaves you wondering a lot but it's definitely something you have to experience at least once.
when they say memories and promises aren’t always spoken, i feel that while reading this. i feel like i’m seeing everything, every crook of the universe but in a small scale of the vast ocean where everything was still undiscovered by humans like us.
“In the past, humans were noble beasts too.” I love that quote from Anglade.
I read this after watching the movie on Netflix. The movie was good, but now I see that it didn't do the story justice. I cried a little bit while reading this and felt a myriad of other emotions but by the time I'd reached the last page, I felt oddly at peace. I can't put into words how Children of the Sea makes me feel as a whole. Definitely going to come back to read this again whenever I'm not feeling well mentally.
A masterpiece! I think the anime movie is visually stunning and great to watch, but the manga is all to be discovered! There're also a lot more info and details, also about the characters' past and their relationships with each other and with the events happening along the story, so I recommend to read it to immerse yourself to the fullest into this unique story!
