I don't see how is this a prequel of Blue Eyes... Totally different people.
Sure the men look similar but their personalities are very different, names too. At least here we understand better the tear of the sea or whatever the jewel name is.
But I think the first 2 color pages of Blue Eyes show the couple here with the merman dressed as a blond woman... The one who befriends Nize. This whole thing still feels incomplete.
