It's aight but I really didn't get the conflict they had. Like was it that serious that he had to move out? Consider breaking up without even talking? How could this couple survive so long without proper communication strats is beyond me.
Bit conflicted. I loved the angst; ignoring the fantasized elements, the basic plot of not feeling super secure in their relationship felt very real to me. The development of them wanting more secure ground for their relationship, to be respected within societal views and know tangibly that they are made for each other, only to realize by the end that they love each other and that's enough, was very sweet. But I also don't think I really got the conflict either?
The conflict is that they're both beta's which means they cannot be fated pairs. Angsty. But like . . . So what? Beta's are the majority within this book, so most couples that exist around them aren't fated pairs. I'm assuming the angle for the story is that homosexuals are only socially accepted if they're fated pairs, but if you think too much about it it just kind of doesn't make sense. So homosexuals are already socially shunned, and then adding further minority points is what makes them accepted? The math isn't mathing. Even if they are fated pairs, it doesn't seem to me like that would amount to anything. The characters are uncomfortable holding hands and kissing in public, how would that change just because they're fated pairs? Because it's not like strangers in the street would know that. They'd just see two men being gay.
Even though the logic of the conflict wasn't the most stable, the story did have a few moments that were very sweet, or alternatively rather emotional. It had a good prose, there were a lot of lines that stuck out to me as I read.
A small thing I also liked about this story is that it felt like a small glimpse into their life. They felt like a real couple.

This is so fking good! Why is the rating abit low? I almost skipped this one 'cause of that, so glad i didn't. Couple improvement, healing scars, so wholesome.
Really enjoyed it. I was confused by the story for a bit but realized it's because the chapters are out of order (5.5 extra came before the last chapter and then repeats at the end??) Cute and a nice new perspective of an omegaverse story
