The general got ambushed and set to die by execution. The general lick the drug and plan to flee. But turn out the drug just makes you experience everything slower, so everything became slow, including the general, so he cant escape. The bittersweet part is about how the general experience his death and the pain real slow because of the drug

The major talk in this chap is about the possibility of the existence of God
