In the land of Solefor, witches and weredogs live alongside human beings. Werewolves are rare - believed by many to have gone extinct - and fetch a high price on the black market. A young werewolf named Lumine has been surviving on his own since he left his home, hiding his identity and working as a bodyguard. He is hired to protect a young witch named Kody; a moody and secretive boy with a talent for attracting trouble. Betrayed by others in the past, Kody doesn't trust his new bodyguard and tries to avoid him, making Lumine's job - and his hope of making a new friend - considerably harder. Eventually, an unfortunate event puts both their lives in jeopardy, forcing them to fight for survival together.
