Mars Red is the perfect example of compelling worldbuilding that relies on the reader's ability to infer. As someone who enjoys putting puzzle pieces together, I absolutely loved this. The characters appear to be cookie-cutter classics boasting platitudes, but really, as backstories are smoothly integrated into the work, we readers see the authenticity that supports them. Though the first few chapters arrange for Aoi to stand as the main character, Shuutaro more appropriately takes the light. My complaint here is with the abrupt ending, I want more! In order to feel unabridged, the length of the manga should have, in my opinion, increased. 9/10
