I love how the family is portrayed, and I like the point of view. Where it shows both the father and the daughter.
Personally, I think that Chise is too mature for her age, but it's how she coped with the loss of her mother, she learned it by watching her papa all day, and that's completely okay. And in my point of view it's neither good or a bad thing to act that way.
It's just bother me a little that she's very possessive of her dad.

She still acts as her age sometimes so it is balanced,
The independent, free, creative household is also well portrayed. They don't keep things from each other, and speak whatever comes to mind.

The grandma should learn to be more open minded, but I like that part too, not everyone in this world is like that and it's a good choice to draw the grandma that way.
Lastly, I wish to see more of her friend's life as she seems to be struggling with her own household.
This book actually has a taste of reality, sure realism doesn't necessarily represent quality, but this one is actually good! You should totally check it out!

just my luck i found another old school single parent manga around the time im very close to my period cycle??? you know from the art style and the way everyone was dressed liked vintage high fashion catalog, its going to very touching and nostalgic.


ps: chise being wayyy more grown than her age makes me so sad. shes still whimsy and playful and imaginative like other kids but whenever the father loses himself in his sadness over the mothers passing and chise was just there...being very empathetic and understanding and placing herself as her fathers rock...something in my heart broke
