this… it’s so gorgeous but absolutely not worth the time. the relationships are extremely messy and almost everyone’s unlikable (except heath I love heath give heath justice) and also the dad x son subplot was totally unnecessary??? we see it used once and when it is used it’s completely possible AND EVEN BETTER to replace it with smth else. the two main characters of… I forgot their names… r so annoying. The main guy (fringe) is so pathetic to watch. It’s acknowledged that without his fathers money he would be nothing but even despite that acknowledgment, he doesn’t ever go on to try and become independent of his father and provide the curly haired guy a luxurious life. I understand that’s not REALLY what curls wants but even then it makes me doubt the sincerity and determination of fringe. The other characters, curls, is extremely tragic and it is sad the way he was raised. However given that the author also had free reign to write the fucking character it wouldn’t have been hard to either choose “I wanna leave with you” or “I’m gonna stay to protect you”. Curls almost always vacillates between the two, never really choosing one. And when he sometimes does choose a motive, it’s always at the worst fucking times. Overall, the characters are pathetic at best and infuriating at worst with some mercy to be given to the victims of the salon. Heath was the best character and deserved so much more than quite literally being second place.
I Can immediately tell when an author does not know how to write a BL. This is a case of terrible writing,stereotypes and awfully boring tropes with no connection to anything. It’s like the author came up with a fantasy land of foreigners and the debotchery that happens because their gay miserable and rich.., also the frame of time was confusing . Even if it’s realistic like theirs aristocratic brothels out there I just didn’t care for the plot of this story enough to keep me entertained
