It's extremely angsty and I just don't find FL's character enjoyable at all. I understand her all the way until she wakes up with the king and all she can ask for is her husband... That's when the good girl syndrome just kills me. I can't be bothered.
Is it me? I love seeing the female lead being beat up because she deserve it and her stupidness. Lol. I skip few chapters i only read the chapters that she beats up she the hell deserve it. I feel bad for Ivana. Ivana needs more pitty than that pink hair bitch.
I dont suggest you to read this manhwa. It’s too dark and too painful. Ml is a trash, just like Fl’s husband. They are both trash. I’m so mad at myself for deciding to read this manhwa… dont waste your time reading it. The art is really pretty though… why the story has to be this bad. *SPOILER ALERT* ML whips FL when she’s pregnant with HIS child. Later on when the twins were born, one of the child was given to ML’s previous partner(?) and unfortunately the child di*d. Yet ML didnt even feel sad, or anything.
After this, he starts whipping FL and beating her while she is pregnant. It was his own choice because the FL wouldn't listen. Then, because the FL is so stressed, she gives birth to twins (a boy and a girl). The ML gives the daughter to his fiancée or future fiancée, and that baby ends up dying due to Henrietta's negligence.
She was in pain due to losing her daughter and couldn't bear it, trying to kill herself. Before the ML gives the daughter away, she begs him not to separate them. He knew the daughter's health was weak, but his ego led to their daughter's death. At the funeral, the ML asks FL if she wants to get pregnant again. FL senses his intentions and trembles with fear. She was on the verge of being violated by the father of her deceased child, in the place where she was grieving her dead child, in front of her dead child.
ML withdraws but still adamantly says that FL can have as many children as she wants because he can get her pregnant again. FL resolutely tells Sybil that she doesn’t love him anymore and regrets loving him because her love for him was the root cause of her misery. FL then contemplates the end of her life, thinking that it would be a relief to be reunited with her daughter in the afterlife.
She requests to take a bath, takes a knife, and hides it in her sleeve. Brought to the bath by the maids, she observes that the bathtub somewhat resembles the small coffin that her daughter was lying in. She gets into the bathtub and as she submerges herself in the warm water, she pulls out the knife hidden in her sleeve and cuts her wrists deeply. The ML holds FL's body and starts screaming like crazy.
She has lost a lot of blood by this point and holds a pale countenance more fitting of a person who has left this earth. FL wakes up after 15 days and sees the ML, who had fallen asleep by her bedside, much to her displeasure. The doctor observes that she has aphasia due to the sudden, emotionally turbulent series of events that had taken place. ML tries to feed her soup a couple of times, and she throws it back in his face each time.
His face burns slightly from being doused in the hot liquid, and he smiles meekly. FL thinks that now even his smiling face is disgusting. ML moves FL to the detached palace because he knew she didn't love him anymore. The ML had lost a lot of weight in proportion to his tall body at this point. He was thin and extremely stressed. He would visit her, and when he did, she told him that she never really loved him. It was obsession and possessiveness.
The fiancée was executed with another person and was cleanly cut in two strokes. FL is at the execution hall but chooses to watch it from afar, thinking to herself that though the fiancée is dead, her death does not bring her dead daughter back. If anything, she considers ML to be an accomplice in her daughter's death, yet he’s the one watching over the fiancée's execution.
So, a short summary for the ending: FL tries to kill ML but fails and then questions if this is love because she couldn't kill him, so she tries to kill herself in front of him. Then FL attempts suicide again and again, even trying to poison herself. She tells the ML that she wants to eat with him and then drinks the poisoned drink, and ML tries to save her again. By the way, every time she tries to kill herself, ML is usually the one saving her. However, she always survives. ML knows that all of this happened because of him. She doesn’t have to die; she has to live, and she doesn’t have to forgive him.
