OK SO.
jungho grew up in a disconnected environment. his parents divorced when he was super young. his dad did not give two flying fucks abt them. his mum partook in drug abuse and was admitted to the hospital. he was bullied to hell’s end and back the entirety of his high school life to the extent where he had to fucking LICK someone’s spit. like how disgusting can you get???? god only knows how many times he’s got critical injuries. and bc of what? just bc his bully was angry one time day and he just happened to bump into him????? not to mention his stupid ass ‘classmates’ who did not bat an eye towards what he was facing and sometimes indulged in this bullying themselves
he made a pact with the devil bc he felt like he had no other choice. he viewed himself as a fucking failure in life, as someone who’s responsible for all the misfortune in the world. he would literally self harm? like, imagine being in his shoes. his daily routine was to get up, go to school and hope, just HOPE that he won’t be beaten to death again today, that he won’t piss his bullies off today. like, dude this wasn’t ‘bullying’, this was straight up fucking harassment.
FURTHERMORE. his crush, the only person in his class that actually cared about him, was kidnapped alongside him bc he was literally betrayed by the one other guy who could sympathise w him bc he was getting bullied too (not to the extent of how jongho was, ofc). he was literally STRIPPED NAKED. in front of crush. his photos were clicked, spread online. the last thing he said to his crush that night was that he blamed her for this.

he can’t contact her for days. all he wants to do is apologise. he gets to school, he’s surrounded by people whispering, cackling, laughing behind his back, at him. everywhere he goes he hears these whispers, driving him mad.

he finally gets a message from her, from yoonhee, his crush. they meet up, watch a movie, enjoy their life for once.

the next day, he finds out that he killed herself.

because of him.

because of what he said to her.



he loses his shit, starts taking revenge on his bullies, he uses the power he received from the devil, he kills them. except that one fucking guy, galhwa.


no bc this fucking pisses me off. so what if galhwas childhood was shit? so was jungho’s. what if Faust killed you in your past life three fucking hundred years ago? you killed his love as well in the present. fuck, you were partially responsible for the death of his love in his previous life as well??

SO FUCKING WHAT. YOU KILLED YOONHEE, HIS MOTHER AND HIS TEACHER, THE ONLY OTHER PERSON WHO GENUINELY CARES ABOUT HIM, IN FRONT OF HIS FUCKING EYES?


if we’re going by the retributive theory, haven’t you exceeded your side of the ‘eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth’?

it was even as if it was faust himself who killed his dad. it was fucking Marc. it wasn’t Faust’s fault in the slightest.

so why, just tell me, WHY is jongho supposed to forgive him?

what great shit as he done to be forgiven? how dare he get a fucking happy ending?


oh god i need him to tortured in hell a million times, over and over and over again.

and why didn’t sihyun get any blame? why doesn’t HE have to repent for his actions? also, wasn’t Faust supposed to be his best friend? yet he doesn’t give two shits about jongho.


im just so angry. but it was such a good read. i hate the fucking ending dude i need him to go fucking mob psycho 100 and kill everything in his way and become a devil or something I DONT CARE. I NEED HIS REVENGE. he went through so much, for literally nothing.
also, why isn’t this tagged psychological horror???

I cannot lie the way the plot turned from a moral dilemma to a cheap fight between demons and god turned me off a little

Endlessly repetitive story with big plot holes.

Read this a couple years ago and i still remember it as one of the best things ever. Gonna need to reread it sometime

not worth the read.
a whole lot of blaming innocences for other's choices and justifying it as past life you did this.
fight back bad, just take it and forgive them, because time will be turned back and everyone will get a happy ending except the other people that now have to take your place.

On my soul I hate this story, I hate it is it interesting, yeah maybe, but every chapter pissed me the fuck off, I'm sick to my stomach right now

Was a great read def made me hellla stressed but I really wanted the MC to get a more violent revenge but I think the endings alright

just..wow. I genuinely enjoyed this and I was so happy when the MC snapped. The ending wasn't tragic, and even if it wasn't revenge it was still satisfying.
