When I first started reading, seeing the MC abandon the child made me confused. But I kept reading. And holy shit, does she have a good reason for it. If your main worry is "will the MC continue being such a bitch?" No! She grows! "Does the child get helped?" Yes! In a scene that genuinely made me cry. There's a reason for why she's so cruel, and apathetic. But that apathy fades away as she develops as a character as her relationship with the ML grows and deepens. This comic made me cry multiple times. The trauma and pain she endured as a kid and forces herself to endure as she continues... my heart. When we learn why she didn't want to help the kid, it was understandable and so sad. I'll post a spoiler in another comment.
