I get the age gap and all but did he have to cheat?? And w multiple people?? Paul really got on my nerves. He kept cheating behind his wife and even made other ppl cheat w their own. I won't be reading this again even for the smut parts which wasn't that much. I know it's realistic but still. Also I liked the first ending more at least

Volume one was so-so, it’s not bad but not good either. But I did enjoy volume two, Paul and Jonathan’s characters were more explored. Fr Paul is a piss of shit cheater, but I still felt bad for him when he cried and asked himself if he made a mistake by not coming out, seeing that his older brother was able to come out publicly and get married— that was so realistic and it’s fucking sad T.T. The second and real ending was much more beautiful and satisfying. Paul coming out will not only make him and Jonathan live more freely, but Jonathan especially will have peace of mind knowing he’s no longer part of that nasty cheating scheme. Also, tho I felt bad for Judy, it’s time for her to know the truth, no one deserves to be cheated on, even if you say the other party has a deeper reason for it. Hoping for another volume or a sequel to Paul and Jonathan’s happy lives <333

Personally really appreciated the realistic elements to this and I am saying this as a queer person. But seeing the comments go off about "seme" and "uke" shit like that AND get so agitated about a very real experience when I am pretty sure most of y'all aren't even gay. Because when it comes to certain genres of queer stories, watching people use these terms always makes me raise an eyebrow because huh? Idk just leaves a weird taste in my mouth now knowing a lot of people who read these stuff aren't even queer or supportive of real queer people. I hated the cheating and didn't like the pacing or the material much but I have enough brain skills to recognise this is a very sad reality for many gay (using this as an umbrella term) people. And even though I despise the cheating trope, instances like this make me want to be more understanding and sympathetic because I know how it is to live in the society as a gay person especially when your family is conservative. Not everyone is brave enough to fight. It's unfortunate that someone has to hide their love and it's even more unfortunate that some of you think this was just about romanticising cheating when it's a sad reality for a lot of us. And literally some of these comments are so juvenile..well some of us are grown enough to understand the nuances and appreciate it. This was lacking to me in few ways but i did enjoy it so 6.5/10.

I'm sorry, i couldn't finish it, I'm turned off by the cheating, ik he's gay and not bi and double timing, but it's still wrong, get a divorce u wife hating boomer

the original ending hinted that Paul will probably stay with his family, when the rewriting ending clearly said that Paul will divorce with Judy and start dating Jonathan officially

The rewritten ending i think left more questions imo but it was still a very interesting read i know theyll probably not end up together given paul's situation but i accept it its very bittersweet (despite the questionable age gap lmao)

A classic.

There are so many real life stories such as this one. I normally never condone cheating, but in circumstances like this one I think everyone's been cheated on- the person forced to live in the closet by society & family... They've suffered for so long and so deeply...It breaks my heart.

I hope we shall one day live in a world where all identities can live a life filled with acceptance, love and respect

That cant be it. No way that's it. We were just getting started.

Jonathan is a med student just tryna live his life. He and his professor, the affluent Paul Haskins, take turns seducing each other, getting on each others nerves, and dancing endlessly around their almost lovers relationship. A lot of the conflict centers around honesty, being honest with others but and to yourself. The characters dredge up old, painful memories and have to grapple with a very homophobic, rich people culture that just... [insert sigh here]

Update ch 8.5. ??????? The... the alternate ending feels like it resolved even less?????

It was good.

8/10
