This is the first manga by this author I've marked less than absolutely stellar. After the first half, it felt slow and a bit recycled, with only a few points where I felt truly invested. Up through the end of the first arc though, brilliant.

Can't accept the ending...

It was unnecessarily long
It has a good plot
There were too many chances to kill dat damn Sonohara
But each tym dat evil survived n good person died or severely injured....
That sonohara could hav died on the hill
N the couple could have survived....

Never reread. Just bad.

The romance is good and dramatic. But what a naive even stupid mom and doughter. how can you easily trust her. otherwise everting is good. in my wiev I'd like to see mai's children.Small cute panthers :)

I will be a bit more generous than others, maybe. I liked the general idea but found a critical flaw with the main villain and all heroes.

Spoilers

Villian: somehow this ordinary human was consistently more intelligent and resilient than all those with special blood; it was carried out to the point of annoyance.
Heroes: not a one of them had the intellect of at least a normal human. For example, Shinya knew that bad people like Sonahara existed but in 15 years he couldn't even arm himself or Mai with a stun gun. Not to mention that secrecy was harmful from the start yet they all keep harboring them. Basically, the characters had zero learning capacity. As a reader that's frustrating because you can't avoid obvious questioning and disdain for the characters actions or choices (eg., why oh why is he/she/they running into a trap they recognized with no tools for success?)

However, that said I did stick it out until the end so there was still a certain something to hook a reader. Hence, my 3 stars. Okay read, def not more than once tho.
