Well, this one was different, being told from the ML's POV, but I didn't like it. Not because of the POV, or even the topic, necessarily, but because here we finally have a well spoken, well educated main character that is promoting abstinence before marriage, and not only do we NOT hear even once WHY abstinence has a positive place in premarriage relationships (RL statistics show couples who wait have longer, more satisfying marriages), but he turns out to be a hypocrite who can't even practice what he teaches, let alone put together a coherent argument to support it. All the while, the character with the unhealthy practices is glamorized, even in the eyes of her moral 'opponent'. I was hoping for more when I started. You knew they would disagree, but I at least hoped for a fair representation of the 'abstinence' side.
