I don't know what's so confusing about this? It makes total sense. The story is flashing back between the present and the past and he obviously met a woman who looks like or is his dead lover. Even if I hadn't read the novel I would understand that because that's how these kinds of stories usually play out..... Btw though the ML is trash. So read with caution.

And people if you want spoilers it might help to read them when you get them….

A little more ('more' because, yes, peeps, you already got some) spoilers: (although I THINK I did remember this incorrectly at first as I originally believed her friend had died before Yuri had the accident that lead to her amnesia not after) I think her accident either has something to do with Seo Tae-Jun's father's death or the real Jin Hye-Yeong's family (pretty clear now that the man Seo Tae-Jun was talking to before they set up the contract was not Yuri's real father, right everyone?) or both.
