Totally in love with this, but I dislike Haru’s mini mustache-beard combo lol, but he still looks cute, aged a little, but he’s basically the same as he was. I love this couple, because they had a lot of rocky roads together, but surpassed them only to hit more. Though they got together again in the end, the creators should’ve given more side stories!! Like Haru working with Akiyama at his great-uncle’s farm or a small trip!

i love age gap relationships. i love relationships that start in one place and end up something completely different. i love when people change one another. i love stories about adults.

what i admire most about asada nemui's works is her refusal to bow to the cliche, even if she borrows its trappings. you end up with something that feels fresh. like here, the expected storyline might be for the haru to fall in love with his sugar daddy, and for them to re-define their relationship as a non-transactional one, and in a way that does happen, but akiyama disrupts the easy trajectory by attempting suicide. because sometimes even the love of another person can't save you. i also appreciate that when they find each other post-suicide attempt, they don't immediately rekindle the relationship. haru has growing up to do, and akiyama has to learn to live with himself. these less than perfect moments make the story feel real.

my biggest hang up is the length. i wish we got to stay with haru and akiyama for longer. the trivial details of their lives interweaving. akiyama's insta account was so cute...

also haru ch 7 with the stache reminds me of timothee chalamet... call me by your name: asian sugar baby x suicidal uncle summer. and how it lingers...
