310826 (57) this was honestly a pretty good read!! i'm tossing up between 4 and 5 stars bc it was quite well written, but i also have aspects of it i'm not so fond of.

for one, i find it very silly that the author portrays yoon as this completely innocent sweet baby who would never have a corrupt thought in his life, meanwhile he lusted over a serial killer, not caring even when he killed people right in front of him. even if he himself doesn't kill people, he's psychotic af for that shit too lol.

i also think they failed to convey exactly why mr park is the big bad villain and what he did to wrong czar's mum. what was their history? we only really got that one sentence of their backstory. i don't feel any emotion towards him at all. literally dgaf bc i don't know jack shit about the guy.

another thing is that i feel like a lot of the parts about music and piano was so inaccurate and silly as a piano player myself. i think authors should really have people who specialise in the topic proofread first (if they aren't knowledgeable themselves) bc to anyone who actually knows anything about the art, it all sounds a little off.

now onto what i did like. the premise itself was very interesting! i don't often come across stories that revolve around gambling, so i found it fascinating to learn about a completely new world. i think their love for each other was also quite sweet.

the ending was satisfying enough for me too. it was a bit abrupt, but it closed off all the plotlines pretty neatly in my opinion. the one thing it missed is czar interacting with his mum. his mum was clearly desperate to find him, so it would've been more fitting to have some closure there. i did enjoy how they live a happily ever after in a world completely detached from the underworld. so all in all, it was a flawed read, but also a good read.

Honestly it was decent while the art isn’t the best the story was ok. Plus I really like the ML as I was expecting him to be like many of the other ML. But no he acknowledged the Mc trauma and never pushed him too hard, along with him just being really loving and caring. Plot really ain’t shit tho.
