The most pretentious & annoying person you know likes this. I knew about the fan service going in, so that was expected. I figured it would annoy me but usually I can ignore fan service if the writing is good enough, unfortunately this is a flaming pile of shit.
There's nothing a manga dudebro loves more than an incel protagonist. The mc was so insufferable I actually couldn't stand him. All of the characters except for like Masaru are incredibly annoying and unlikeable. I don't understand the appeal in stories that are full of the worst characters imaginable. They're all just rude and annoying. They don't do anything except be loud & mean and die. I know I didn't get very far in so maybe better characters show up as it goes on, but also I read 62 chapters and there was one, maybe 2, characters that were even slightly likeable. Also why is every character homophobic.
Female "characters" aren't characters, they're a walking pair of boobs. The set up with that girl having another version of herself wandering around was interesting. I'd love to see more of how that impacts her & her relationship with her family, too bad the mc being an incel and complaining about her not wanting to have sex with him will be the focus instead. Maybe they get more into her situation later, but honestly I doubt it. She's also like 15/16 and CONSTANTLY half naked or being assaulted. Nearly every chapter starts with an illustration of her with her clothes off. I can ignore fan service, but it gets to a point.
Also nothing interesting happened during those chapters. Tbf they are fairly short, so that could be part of the reason, but it just repeats the same things over and over again. They get zapped into the room, exposition dump to all the new guys who showed up, fight some aliens, all the new extras die, and then they leave. We never learn new info or get a look into any ways the plot could develop in the future. And I understand setting up stakes & establishing the world, but it's been 60 CHAPTERS with no sign of the formula changing. I get why this shit is nearly 400 chapters now if this is the pace it's moving at.
I'm pissed off I'm pissed off. I wanted to read more of this to get a better idea of how it progresses, but I really can't do it. It's so annoying. It gets 2 stars because I didn't get very far in so I want to be a little bit fair... also sometimes I liked some of the character interactions. Mostly when they were reading their scores at the end of each round, they were kind of funny.
