Eh, pretty mid but I appreciate a historical romance manwha that has the balls to end quickly and tragically.

Full of Regret

This sucks ass

Chronically Online

I finished this at another site. Gotta admit I didn't realise this had the tragedy tag but I could tell as I was reading and I'm honestly glad it didn't have the typical "they reincarnated and lived happily ever after" but rather they both died miserable and only lived happily in heaven.
I have to say the fl is a bit much imo, she's inconsiderate and doesn't think about anyone but herself and her lover (kinda) but she isn't toxic, it's more like .....she really was driven mad by love but also all of those around her failed her. At first I felt bad for her family but later you find out that they're literal garbage (except maybe her siblings) and even the people around the ml are also bad! His father figure the pope, his red haired friend and those in the church. At the end you find that all of the adults around these two failed them and she was driven mad by them and by the constant rejection and lying from the ml that he doesn't love her (which is a lie and they both know it).
Tbh I felt like their must have been a better way to go about what happened but that's kinda like real life where everything can't go perfect. I also wish their was a regret arc for the ml not just a couple of pages.

Ngl name is ass but plot is actually pretty good. I get mc honestly.. wish there was more of this, love tragic stories. I'm not saying the main character's name because it literally means dick in my language. So, yeah. But this manhwa is very unexpectedly good. I thought it would just be rage-baiting me, but it's actually pretty good. I really like how tragic it is. And it really just conveyed its emotions, especially in that one scene where John was...

quite literally begging the main character to look at the locket because in that scene you could really see his desperation that he was willing to give up anything and everything for her at that moment had she just looked and there's also this tragedy in the fact that the main character did look she did attempt to look

Because she finally gave in. But when she finally gave in, that was when John finally closed the locket. So with them, you can tell that with just that, you can tell that the story is really a whole trope of right person, wrong time. Honestly, I do think that the both of them have, you know, their own contributions and flaws as to why.

their relationship failed to flourish but i think that it's mainly all on john's side considering how the main character she was fully fully confident in expressing her love even from the start alone john was the one who felt like a coward and i know that john expresses his love in a different way as we see in later chapters john says that his love

instead of expressing his love straight on to someone his love is more on giving up because he thinks that they can find someone better and you know when the main character hears that and she realizes wow you don't love me because and she doesn't say that not because you know she thinks that john doesn't love her she thinks that john loves her but she doesn't consider john's love to be loved when she discovers what

the meaning of love to him is she doesn't like that she doesn't believe that that's true love to her love is fully expressing everything and wanting to be with that person but john's love is weird it's restrained and it's bound and that's not what the main character wants

It's not what she needs, it's not what she's been fighting for all this time. She can't believe that she's been fighting for her love all this time. All the while, John just fully believed that love is to give up. You know, I really wish we could have seen more. I tried looking for the novel, I found it, but that's really just where it ends. You know, with John...

We never get to see what happens to John afterward. How does he live the rest of his life as a Pope, knowing that it's a position, knowing that it's a life that was granted to him only with the debt of his most beloved. And that even now, people still don't believe that she is his beloved. I wonder how that feels.
