Love the mangaka, but I didn’t love this manga as much as their other works, nor could I connect to the characters like I had with the ones they wrote about in the past. Because Aranami values logic over emotions, I had a hard time believing that his feelings for Hojo were changing. He barely even had cute, unguarded moments. Unlike Hojo, he’s just so…stiff. I could never get along with someone like that irl. He’d drive me crazy, and there were times where I felt that way about the character. It was still sweet and interesting though, and the art’s obviously great! But I did think it was a weird choice to mention Hojo’s refusal to drink several times, then exclude a backstory. As someone who doesn’t drink, I was curious.

this was really a refreshing read!
did i skip over half of what smarty-pants-mcgee said? absolutely! that was too many words for a sunday night and i dont want to think. but besides that, i thought it was really interesting, EXTREMELY well drawn (omg this artist poured their everything into this and you can tell - it's GORGEOUS) and just, so refreshing!

aranami is so much like my grandfather and my grandfather pisses me off every day so i always wondered how the hell he got laid (though i'm glad he did) but now i see some people find acting like that cute. it kinda helped me understand a little bit but i know they are trying to make aranami likable so they arent going to include everything his mindset makes him do. sadly my grandfather doesnt have that kind of plot armor and is lowkey a bitch. womp womp

[Hojo Haruma x Akihito Aranami] I’m proud that Hitomi is making her own BL mangas besides Eruri and I loved it! Aranami was giving off that adhd-behavior energy, and it was actually sooo cute (adding Hojo’s reaction to them hahaah) AND DANG, A MANGA THAT ACTUALLY HAD COMMUNICATION AND NOT MISUNDERSTANDING??? Bro, I’m really happy that the mangaka knows how adults act like and both characters actually had brain cells during arguments. Anywho, I really loved this story and how the story wasn’t rushed (even the ‘love’ scens bc they were actually written and drawn good)
