The synopsis of this story actually drew me in HAHAHA. CUZ WATCHU MEAN THAT MAN REJECTED THE FINEST WOMAN AND NOW SHES ON A MISSION TO MAKE HIM LIKE HER. So this is how men feel, the thrill, the instinct of trying to make the other person accept them. I get it, I understand it now. But all that aside I was actually not ready for the shit that was boutta go down like AT ALL. Like I was in it for the game but I was not in it for the tragic story of my ML. OMG MY BABYYYYY MY PRECIOUS SWEET DELICIOUS KINDHEARTED TIMID SLY SWEET TONGUED FLIRTATIOUS GENTLEMANLY BABY I WILL DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. Tell me why his backstory was so fucking depressingly tragic. Like they don’t talk about the aftermath of being a war prisoner especially for him who was held hostage. Others usually don’t talk about non of dat SO I WAS NOT READY FOR THIS. Omgggg the way they mention about his flashbacks, triggers, no will to live — that shit broke my heart like literally. I was no longer in it for the game but for my man to be saved and happy again. It’s just the way the feelings, the trauma was portrayed. It felt so real and the emotions felt so raw, it was like I’m feeling it for him, for them. Omg my precious baby. My precious precious precious baby. Omg and don’t even get me started on how seasoned bro is. Bro is a seasoned player which is sus cuz it’s like I don’t think it mentions that he has had relationships in the past so it’s like how tf he so good on capturing my heart with his words, but ig he really is just that good. Ughhhh I need this man in my lifeeee like how is he so good at coming up with a good response to counter mc’s words, like it’s a response that MELTS YOUR FREAKIN HEART SO YOU CANT HELP BUT JUST SIT BACK AND TAKE IT LIKE A GOOD LITTLE PERSON YOU ARE. I get it when they say you can’t stay mad at the person you love. Like lowkirk something happened that made me think of my partner were to do this, I would be so upset BUT THEN I COULDNT STAY MAD AHAHAAHHA. OMG DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED WHEN THEY HAD TO SPEND TIME APART SO HE CAN GATHER PEOPLE TO HELP OVERTHROW THE BROTHER, SHE WAS SO UPSET THAT HE HANDT BEEN SPENDING TIME WITH HER BUT THE MOMENT THEY SAW EACH OTHER AND HE CALLED HER HIS BELOVED PRINCESS AND SAID “WONT YOU WELCOME ME”, GIRL FOLDED SO QUICK AND SO DID I AHAHAHAHAHA. He knew how to win her over, what a sly man he is. Omg I love him sm. He’s a natural, like it just feels natural that he’s like this. It don’t feel like he was programmed but just that he’s naturally like this. He has my whole heart, my body, my organs, everythingggggg. This novel was just sooooooooo frreaaakkkkinnnnnn cutteeeeeeeeeee. Like it’s all about healing, lovey dovey which there are obstacles in the way but it doesn’t drag on, thank fookin god, and it just warms your heart to the point it melts and it gets you curling your toes, clenching your heart cuz you can’t take it no more, squealing and laughing like a psycho. Likeeee, this shit took me to cloud nine. He took me to cloud nine. Gosh I love this man. But we can’t forget our Mc too. Golly I love her too. I feel like other confident, I can do anything I want and everyone will love feels so like fake, but for her, it feels so real. I love the way ml describes her. She really does seem like such a radiant person, and the way she knows to not push his boundaries, redirect something when she sees the slightest discomfort on his face, making him do something that is out of his comfort zone but is able to turn it into a pleasant experience, like she’s that girl. I love her energy and free will. She’s got such strong compassion and confidence oh gosh it’s no wonder the ml fell for her. Ugh I’m just so hooked onto this story cuz I just loveeeeeee the chemistry between these two and how their love blossomed. I feel like the overall storyline could have gone better. The ptsd and issues isn’t really touched too much upon, which ig I’m kind of glad cuz I didn’t wanna see my bby suffer more, but I think in that way it was kind of just brushed off so we don’t get too deep into that. The villain lowkey just vanished halfway through the story as well to focus on the love plot which that, ig I do love focusing on the love plot but then we’re lacking the other aspect of the story which is the political portion, since this is not just a love story but a political one as well. The Queen lowkey became dumb at the end, like if she’s the queen wouldn’t she know better than to keep defending the prince who’s already now accused of these crimes he’s committed, its like they dumbed down the characters and so Mc and her sis had it easy which is like ain’t no flippin way. But then again, I do get it, it’s so that we don’t go too heavy into the political stuff but it was just a little disappointing in that sense ig. But ig a lot of people are just here for the love story and that’s fine, if that’s you, then this is for you. I love them sm, I’m gonna come reread it again in a few months.
