ahhhhh such a beautiful story—from its art to its substance. i could really feel the emotions as I read; i often felt uneasy or anxious during tense scenes. i was hesitant to finish it because i thought it would be too heavy on my heart, but in the end everything turned out okay. i'm glad i read this story! much love

what a masterpiece! my heart was in my throat the entire time. the setting, the plot, the suspense, characters slowly revealing their true intentions, the ethics, dilemmas, love and lust UGH everything was done so masterfully <3 maria and kyeongju are so beautiful, i found their romance very believable and im so so so relieved it was a happy ending because mr.kang is human garbage and while he deserved his death, i wish he suffered longer like he could get tortured with opium till he died type shi

anyway both author and artist ate with this, i also loved reading the afterword, who woulda guessed the 1930s were so progressive when it came to wlw
