The MC is a troubled kid. His family neglected him and he often got bullied at school. With all the bruises, people assumed he was getting into fights, thus he was a delinquent. But that wasn't true. He transfers schools. He meets the ML who is his complete opposite. He is super strict on rules, a little clueless, but a really nice guy. The story is good as it covers their evolving relationship. I love how they help each other figure things out. MC figures out how to be a good kid and do things for himself, not listening to what others think of him. The ML learns how to be less of a people pleaser and start thinking and feeling for himself. I also liked how when the MC was being abused by the antagonist, that he was only with him out of fear like a real abusive relationship. He didn't suddenly overcome his fear or trauma, and he didn't act out of character. Well written.

The main couple are very cute and both trying their best but this also has one of the more realistic depictions I've seen of an abusive relationship in this form of media; one side is vulnerable and isolated and gets found by the worst kind of person and getting out of it, even when he gets some support is still a pickle and not even the thing that ends up being taken seriously, which feels real af. One of the best.
