Wooow. Excellent! Tons of mystery and drama, very dark but not hopelessly so. Lots of smut but well balanced with plot. Ends much happier than you’d expect. The omega, Kiyo, is a little pathetic but he has good reasons and he gets stronger and develops more agency as time goes on. The alpha, Iri, is very complex. Likely to be even better on a future reread, knowing that Iri is better than he seems initially. Love the metaphors about wolves vs dogs and light in your lifetime. Normally a continuous metaphor feels self-indulgent but it makes a lot of sense in this story because of Kiyo’s personality and his skill as an artist.

Great. Made me so angry though, why did Kiyo have to suffer so much? And why was the widow just forgiven like that? I hope 2089, the lawyer, and Kiyo’s father rot forever. Jio is precious. The smut is hot.
