this far, i'm not impressed by how we only know the mc's "professional" status nominally. i could get behind a cool-guy hitman getting all flustered, but only if we'd actually seen his skill and composure established beforehand so there's something to contrast it against. instead, we get that grounding for only maybe the first few chapters.

i understand he's undercover and limited by his circumstance, but Jakyung just internally reacting to everything around him for 90% of the runtime is disappointing. his personality reads as rebellious, yet the direction keeps forcing him into a passive role. it doesn't make for a satisfying read.

ml is a generic chaebol red flag personality (note: not violent against MC). gets his hands bloody, intimidates petty villains; never faces any real threat, never makes concessions; appears to have the upper hand in every situation. but it is nice that he’s unabashed and approachable ^_^

still early, so i don’t doubt its transformative potential. just not willing to drag through repetitive interactions and insignificant antagonists.

Ik this is based on a novel so I can’t comment too much since it’s just following the source material but I really didn’t like the cartoonish route it’s going… it had so much potential… pass :(

Another boring slop bl where the bottom is supposed to be some accomplished spy but for some reason barely does any research on how to play his part and is constantly just saved by everyone suddenly losing their intelligence when he speaks. And also immediately gets swayed by the top who rapes him multiple times before they “fall” for each other. Not to mention, as a man who’s constantly dealing with death threats why didn’t the top immediately clock that Ian was a spy? Especially when all the signs were so apparent??? He’s supposed to be hella smart but all of a sudden is blind and just writes the bottom off as suspicious when he sees the very obvious gang tattoo? Also why didn’t the bottom cover that up at least or something how are you gonna go to a 5 million dollar assignment and not be extremely prepared. Would’ve been more interesting if the bottom was actually good at his job and the top genuinely thought he was some soft boy
