“1.The world is divided into two realms, one for humans and one for non-humans. Amano works in a hotel in the human world that is a stop over for non-humans. One of the guest is the moon God who looks like an old friend of Amano who died.
2.Kazuma and Mi are childhood friends. After Kazuma fell from a roof that they climbed as children, Mi started to avoid him.”
―Two stories but the first one was my favorite. Bittersweet and angst, but still a good ending. Art was lovely too.
“One night, Mamoru Hishida happens upon a beautiful vampire who immediately recognizes him for what he truly is—an incubus-human hybrid, and on the brink of sexual starvation. The vampire strikes a bargain with Mamoru to become his familiar in exchange for a supply of sexual energy”
―I absolutely adore the author’s other works and art. This story was really unique, I never expected to find a vampire, who happens to be an otaku as well, very endearing. Funny and cute.
“What happens when an engineer and an artist whose personalities are opposites have to work together? Jang Jaeyoung is like a semantic error in the perfect world of Chu Sangwoo. Will Sangwoo be able to debug this?“
―I hated Jaeyoung for tormenting Sangwoo, but eventually he grew on to me. The story is an enemies-to-lovers troupe with comedy. Art is good, creative, and I like the idea of a ‘gaming’ type of art theme since the story is told by Sangwoo who likes programmin
“Meeting the unrequited love of your 18-year-old self during a class reunion at 27 - that love that has missed its chance to bear fruit.”
―This one has a beautiful and serene artstyle I’d always think about it from time to time. The series and the manwha itself is just visually stunning. I believe the animation was also made by one person which is just astonishing to me. The story was short & unsatisfactory though
“Conor, a Korean-American, lives in a city where racist and homophobic hate crimes are still frequent. He joins a band with the blonde hair, blue-eyed Simon.”
―One of my favorite stories out there. Honestly there are a lot of points in the story that left me shocked which made me read more just because I kept begging for answers. The story straightforwardly presents homophobia, racism, and dark light of the entertainment industry. Art is mediocre.
Tw: Rape, murder
“Eungi has been in college without being engaged with others. One day by encounter, he finds the secret of underclassman Jeongwoo. Why are you so nervous to forget? A love story that’s both easy and difficult.”
―It’s simply a sweet and cute story as you watch two boys falling in love with each other. I loved the art despite some people’s different opinion. There isn’t much of a conflict here except I guess the backstory of Jeongwoo and Eungi.
“Jimmy a small-time thief, breaks into Reese's apartment, only to find evidence that he's a retired cop. A bit spooked now, he leaves in a hurry”
―I read a lot of the author’s work, and this one takes the cake. Art is beautiful and the characters are endearing. There’s a slightly big age-gap between the couple, but it’s legal. I know it’s not tagged as comedy, but it was really funny for me while feeling the second-hand embarassment.
“Detective Takachiho had finally caught the elusive criminal Nanami Yoichi after chasing him all the way to a remote island. But what will happen to the pair of them when they accidentally miss the ferry home?”
―Cute and comedic story between a criminal and a detective. Yoichi was so charming haha. The manga is actually a merge of other more stories, but this couple left more of an impression.
“YuYang ends up helping the unsociable and towering LiHuan, the kind of person that does everything to be disliked by accident.”
―Absolutely loved this story. It wasn’t rushed, the romance developed quite smoothly and slow. I loved Yu Yang and how charismatic he is and just his overall character. The art is just as lovely. Go read it if you want to feel single.
“Ruby is a student at an elite boarding school. Things are going pretty well for her until she finds out that she won’t be able to go home at Christmas. Instead, she’ll be stuck at school with only one other student–the aloof and beautiful Steph–for company.”
― A GL recently made by one of my favorite mangakas. There’s only a few chapters so I can’t say much yet, but so far it’s wholesome and the art is just as good as ever.
