“There is an island where both Japan and Korea unload their most dangerous and violent criminals. The latest drop-off at the island is a very strong, very violent murderer. Will he be able to overcome whatever he might find on this hell island?”
—Interesting main duos. Love the ‘i-wont-let-anyone-kill-you-but-me’ dynamic. Good and fluid art, suitable for an action manga like this. Sadly it’s short, but you could only read the longer version legally.
“Minami has a "unique constitution." He senses the lingering thoughts of murder victims, and experiences the circumstances under which they died with his own body. This proves useful in solving cases with the Metropolitan Police Department's Special Investigations Unit Six.”
—The idea of the ml’s power is pretty unique and was done well in a detective story like this. Tagged as Yaoi but there isn’t explicit scenes. Good art
“The Thundercloud Inn, an establishment that opens its doors to the troubled masses, human or otherwise. But to pay for stay, the equally curious innkeeper takes payment only in the form of one's deepest secrets”
—The art is gorgeous. I love the character designs, especially Sasaki’s and Butterfly’s. Unique plot with a mix of mystery and Japanese folklores. Sometimes the story gets confusing, but it links with previous contexts from other chaps. Good read
“Isshin, a lone wolf protagonist, has an ability that allows his eyes to “see how much time a living being has left, that is, their lifespan”
—The supernatural element in the story is interesting and I have yet to see where the direction of the story goes (just a few chapters up). The bond between the trio is so wholesome. Characters except for the mc haven’t really stood out as much, but I think the story still has potential. Art is pretty good.
“Follows the life of an average hero who manages to win all battles with only one punch. This ability seems to frustrate him as he no longer feels the thrill and adrenaline of fighting a tough battle, which leads to him questioning his past desire of being strong.”
―The plot is simple yet so entertaining. A good blend of action and comedy. The panels with detailed artworks are just chef’s kiss. Worth a read and a watch.
“A world of magic where magic is used for everything. But deep in the forest exists a young man who spends his time training and bulking up. He can't use magic, but one day, his life is put in danger!”
—This is incredibly funny in a somewhat stupid way as possible. There isn’t much serious moments, just full of action and comedy which is actually entertaining since I smiled and laughed all throughout. Story reminds me a mix of One Punch Man and Mob Psycho. Simple art
“The story of Phantom Highschool, starring Ingan Kim who was placed as the homeroom teacher of room 8!”
—I was surprised when all of the chapters were full colored since the drawings look like they take quite a lot of time to be made. Mr. Kim gave quite a lot of second-hand embarrassment, but despite being scared of his students for being different creatures, he actually cares for them and tries his best. Comedic at first, but slowly plot gets deeper
“Emma and her friends have a pretty good life at the orphanage they grew up in. Though the rules may be strict, the caretaker is kind. But why are the children forbidden from ever leaving?”
―I’m in love with the concept of characters going for an adventure to leave their comfort zone, and this story did exactly as that. But more sinister and twisted. The more they learn more about the world outside the orphanage, the more questions are left unanswered. Good art and worldbuild
“Meeting the super unlucky boy, Nijisuke, the life of the black-haired beauty Yoitsuji Kuroha who is a captive of the underworld changes. For the two who have begun to walk on a fresh path, a new evil has begun to move with Kuroha as their target.”
—Btw this is a “sequel”. Lots of eccentric and charming characters that are tied together by fate lol. The story is really fast-paced, but it still keeps you hooked yet confused. Action scenes are drawn really well
“Dam, who at some point stopped growing, avoids people and leaves to the forest.”
—An interesting premise. I love the art, it’s simple and looks pretty cute. There isn’t much chapters up yet and the deeper plot is yet to unfold, but so far the mc is likeable. I also like how the story is set in an apocalyptic aftermath. Side characters aren’t too complex but they’re so wholesome and nice to Dam :)
