If you think about it, this manga/anime introduces serious social issues in a kid friendly way to young audience. It explores the possibilities of other solutions after being bullied/abused. I used to think that the story was eerie... How is it kid-friendly in any way? This is like the modern version of old fables - using animals to talk/ convey moral lessons, etc. It'll always have a special place in my heart.

It's a good series (IMO). The art is beautiful and it's funny. Your typical seinen genre stuff - yeah, I'm talking about the not so serious and deep stuff like one punch man, gintama (let's not compare them, it's still entertaining to me)
