BEST SHIT EVER

After getting caught up in a terrorist bombing, Noriko finds herself in a strange new world with a man named Izark who's language she can't understand. Everyone in this world seems to be looking for the Sky Demon and the Awakening foreshadowing total destruction of the world. This manga was so good and omg Izark grows to be so devoted to her. Despite getting thrown into it pretty quick it has such great world-building to it. I honestly love their relationship and the art style is amazing!!

Every work by this author is honestly phenomenal. Every character is fleshed out and gets to conquer a part of themselves. Something I really like in this story is the fact that throughout it, you realize that no one is a villain, they are just a product of their environment. Like I wholeheartedly liked every single character; not one was annoying or evil to me. There were many moments when I serious sobbed during this and can definitely say it's one of the best mangas I've ever read – a 10/10.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to put this one in but it is magnificent. It follows Yuuri, a modern teenager who is taken thousands of years into the past to ancient Anatolia. This is the manga that really got me into stuff from the early 00's and 90's. What I love most is the fact that throughout it, the story includes real life historical events and uses them excellently in the plot. I loved doing research of Mesopotamia afterwards to really grasp the effort put into this manga. 10/10!

The manga follows a girl named Chloe, who lived in a prison so big it could be called a city. She escapes with three other prisoners but goes back to find her little brother. This was an absolute thrill to read like I seriously had chills throughout thee whole thing. The art is breath-taking and it totally deserves an anime adaption. MC is a badass and I ended up loving so many of the other characters in this. Absolutely 10/10.

Tears are literally streaming down my face as I'm writing this, it was so good I can't even. The ending (spoilers) wasn't even sad but I found myself sobbing while I read the last few chapters. The art style was amazing and I loved Kakeru's character so so so much. This manga was a beautiful work of friendship and love and left me so happy. Deserves the 10/10!!

Hana is a high school student who stands in for her older sister at a marriage meeting and ends up meeting Takane, an older, egotistical jerk. They immediately hate each other and end up forming a loving and funny relationship. Holy shit this manga was hilarious to read. I chuckled more than a few times and squealed plenty as well. Seriously, it is such a good shoujo manga and definitely deserves the 10/10!!

The story follows a girl in a rural middle school who cares for her older brother. She makes friends with the new transfer student, who insists that they’re a mermaid. However, there remains something dark and hidden about her outrageous lies. Holy shit. I didn’t think I’d like this so much but it really enraptured me! It just felt so tragic and I kept hoping for something good to happen. The author does a good job of highlighting key character points through subtleties in the scenes. 10/10

Emma and the other children live in a quaint orphanage. They have food, family, and everything they need. However, one night Emma and her friend, Norman, went beyond the boundaries of the house, only to find out they are being raised as cattle for demons. This is such an amazing manga! I found myself really interested in the demons and their society. The author also did a good job of keeping on theme with the story. 10/10

Two children meet in the midst of war. They continue to walk forward until the end of the road. This was absolutely breathtaking. It made me cry throughout the whole thing. It reveals the atrocity that is war and questions what the meaning of life is. Above all, it teaches that you must move forward—no matter what. Incredible story, a 10/10.

The story starts with Ga-yeon, a woman who had gotten into a car crash and survived with horrific burns. She struggled to live on, but when she found out she was pregnant, she decided to live for her child. I absolutely adore this author. Everything they’ve made is a masterpiece seriously. The tragedy and getting through it is so effectively used in this story. I love it so much 10/10.
