A guy tries to emotionally work through the fact that his long-time friend told him he was married (he isn't). Interesting and wonderful.
I loved this one. It's incredibly adorable (it even has a little black kitten) and very sweet. I also love how the art style works with the story.
As much as I'm usually a fluff over angst person, I do love it if it's done right. It's a great story, of someone damaged by their past, trapped in destructive behavior patterns, and eventually breaking out of them for love. And I really do love those guys that actually fight for their relationships instead of running away when pushed. It's a good one if you're in the mood for some light angst (hey, I'm still me, heavy angst isn't my scene).
I spent a great majority of my time screaming, "Just spit it out already!" in my head at this one. That's not a complaint, and the pay-off is just about the most wonderful and sweet thing ever, but goodness, seven chapters never felt so long. You like each other! Just kiss already!
Oh all of the friends-to-lovers stories that I've read, I feel like this one tackles the pain and uncertainty the best. It hurts but there's an honesty to it. Needing time to figure out how you feel while someone else is suffering may feel cruel, but it's also a perfectly natural reaction. There are many moments here that while they are very painful to read, they're also very human. I like that a lot.
Boy this one is an emotional freaking roller coaster. These two need to get it together for the sake of my sanity! Update soon, I'm begging you.
The second and third stories are fine, but the real draw of this one for me is the first. A long term couple tries to spice up their sex life, mostly because one is a little insecure about the other leaving (even though there's no indication that will ever happen). It's very cute and genuinely funny because nothing they try works or even remotely turns them on, until they just say they love each other and have normal sex. The power of love, people. The power of love.
Oh man. As far as friends-to-lovers stories go, this one is top tier. I love the insecurities that crop up, the bumps in the road that happen with the transition, and how it manages to progress the story over a period of years without dragging it on forever but still keeping it interesting. I really love grounded stories that are just about average people trying to get along in their lives and being in love.
Utterly adorable story of two childhood friends getting together, with the occasional appearance from a supportive but meddling older brother. Very sweet.
Dog and Cat. That's what it means. And it's every bit as adorable as that premise sounds. They're not literal dog and cat (I'm not much on supernatural/shifter stories), just people who happen to have personalities not unlike a dog and cat, as well as the fact that those are their pet names for each other. Their relationship is so adorable I can barely stand it. Legitimately funny and heartwarming stuff. A wonderful read.
