Not really subverse, but it’s the same vibe) The Sub(uke) is afraid of relationships because of his last Dom. He meets this new Dom who’s a former M, so he accepts to try a new relationship because the guy is a new Dom and he’ll maybe go easy on him because he doesn’t have experience.

I really enjoyed the story, the plot develops itself, there’s also characters development and there’s no such a thing as villains.
