The manga is based on a character with impaired hearing, and a boy who was raised by his grandfather and is broke. Being hearing impaired causes many inconveniences in life, and not being able to hear or be heard clearly sure is traumatizing, but the cheerful, straightforward boy isn't having any of that, he believes everyone should be heard and treated equally.
