Unlike any shoujo i’ve ever read. On the surface, it adapts a storyline similar to every other historic shoujo you’ve seen. However, they make it come alive with an excellent interpersonal narrative. What made me fall for this manga was the author’s work with the antagonist- the step mother. An “evil” character is actually just jealous over past grievances, and not everyone agrees with her actions.

The author has done an excellent job at laying out the ground work to form the plot, very satisfying to watch unfold. Each character is diverse and has their own story to tell. I like the subtle humor throughout the story, which contrasts the Lead’s very straightforward personality. Only thing I dislike is the fact that the protag and ML had a fateful encounter in the past, despite the totally random circumstances that they met.

I’ll tell it how it is: the story is based largely on misunderstandings, it’s an omegaverse, and there is a kid. Many people dislike the ML for how he treated the Protag in the passed, but ignore the character’s growth in the story. If you’re looking for a fairytale relationship, you won’t find it here. What you will find is character weakness and growth, turning a new leaf and an alpha father trying to make up for the years he lost with his daughter.
One of the few stories I’ve seen where the side couple is actually an important subplot for the story. A despondent tale that embodies its title, “Ways of Parting,” as the Protagonist is coming to terms with the fact that his long term boyfriend had moved on while an accident left him in a coma for five years.
Truly a gem to read. The author writes their characters’ with such vibrancy and personality that it lights up every scene they write. Each scene is so delicately crafted from the pacing to the sound effects and dialogue to all tie together into a cohesive storyline. Especially noticeable in the explicit scenes, which by the way are probably some of the spiciest out there.
A loyal husband (Protag) who is going thru a divorce with his wife and a “birdy” (prostitute) (ML) with a traumatic past. Their story unfolds gradually and with care, making their budding relationship feel very natural.

Boxing yaoi. Rape in beginning but it is not glossed over, the psychology of the second main character is extremely complex and its really worth the read.
