actually good BL stories

This one is about a kind, lonely and unloved monster in a forest who saves a sociopathic human and then decides to follow him on his journey across the world. It has a nice and funny balance between the two characters, and I would very warmly recommend it! (OBS! Implied non-con advances in the early chapter. Not between the main characters, though.)

This poor guy is a straight man who lives as a mob character in the world of BL. It's a comedy where he constantly tries to dodge "red flags" for getting into a gay relationship while trying to save his handsome brother from falling into a trope as well. It comes off quite funny without being homophobic. (OBS! all the relationships are about background characters. The MC does NOT get into any relationships.) Again, warmly recommended.

This manga has a lot of clichés while also being a fresh gust of air. The most handsome, cool and sweet guy at school falls for the ugly mob character and constantly tries to rope him into a date. The main character is a very kind and realistic character while the Handsome Guy is a sadist who secretly hates attention and people. One of my absolute favorites!

(WARNING! This manga involves sadistic sex scenes as well as gore, torture, rape, murder and necrophilia. It is NOT BDSM and NOT for the faint-hearted. Note the horror-tag.) This manga is about a sexually deviant teenage boy who calls upon a demon so he can eat him, since that is his biggest sexual fantasy. Once his wish is fullfilled, he is killed and cast into hell to be the demon's pet. A very dark and twisted series that I fully recommend to those who can handle it!

In a world where everyone is an animal, Emile the Deer falls for Radu the Bat, his idol and biggest competitor in the Battle Ice Skating world. But before all that, it turns out that Radu is a vampire who feeds on animal blood! There are also people who don't want the two to be together... A good, healthy and realistic love story written by a couple! Also very warmly recommended!

This manga is an Omegaverse where the Omega is dominant and seduces the Alpha. They used to be childhood friends, but the Omega's obsession of the Alpha leads him to rape him. This series involves Defying Fate, as the main pairing are not Fated Mates. Very steamy, Omega is the Top, but the relationship is definitely manipulative, at least to begin with. I still recommend it, though :')

(This one is on the list as a fandom inside joke. It's not an actual BL and has no romance plot for the MC at all. It's an incredibly good Isekai/game system/battle strategy manwha where the MC falls into the universe of his favorite book, a bit wordy but worth it! Yoo Junghyuk and Kim Dokja do be extremely gay sometimes, though. You can definitely skip over this if you're only here for actual BL, haha)

You have probably heard of this one, even if you're new to the BL world. This is a very sweet but tragic story about two young men who find themselves in the right place at the wrong time. A Japanese photographer meets a young New York gang leader, and is accidentally dragged into a world of gangs, drugs, sex trafficking and violence. They are soulmates in a world without soulmates. 10/10, would recommend. This is my fourth favorite manga of all time.

A handsome and wealthy businessman/womanizer is being pressured by his father to find a partner, and gets saved by a short super-powered vigilante when out for a walk. After meeting the odd man a few more times, he decides he's the perfect solution to his troubles and begins to seduce him! It's both a very funny and heartwarming story about two strange (read, deranged) men who find good things in each other. This is a recent favorite of mine.

Like the title says, the MC is a bit of an unstable (and selfish/unaware) guy who gets easily distracted by his kind and sweet boyfriend and has trouble saying how he feels. A very sweet, smutty and funny story that warms my heart! Very, very warmly recommended. <3
