-deals with loss and moving on
-grandpa had it worst, he had a hard time moving on from the village and from the death of his son. Unrelated, but he reminds me of ghibli boys who are firm in their personal values and loves their family. I personally think grandpa is a direct descendant of the dragon god as for his dead son, idk if the dragon god took him or he just drowned.
