I read manga about witches, mysterious men, monsters or creepy little girls granting wishes for price (usually your soul or years of your life-span) or selling antique boxes, mirrors or necklaces that will help you in fulfilling your wishes. You could say that this is one of my favourite plots. But anyway I always would end up disappointed in manga after manga with this plot until I saw this one. I was speechless after one chapter. MASTERPIECE

If I had to choose favourite genre of manga, I'd have really hard time choosing between psychological and historical. I'm really just a madwoman when it comes to history. Especially Nordic history! This beautiful, maddening saga shows true side of Vikings, choosing carefully what is to be glorified about them. Once you start you can't stop!

Very sad story with death and eternity as its main themes. Unlike other manga, where the man seem so superior and special because of his intelligence and creativity, here man seems so small, fragile with love and kindness being something that makes man seems "larger" when compared to animals (or animal-like people)... Beautiful read

This manga is literally killing me, with both interesting plot and sad deaths. I was surprised how much realistic this manga is done with so many unrealistic and supernatural elements.
It does good job at blurring lines between science and fantasy

This isn't your usual animals-living-as-humans manga. There is a reason they still look like animals despite that they are walking on two legs and that they had learnt how to speak and work. They couldn't win over their feral instincts. Carnivores and Herbivores alike. Children or adults. It shows how Utopia can never be achieved. If humans couldn't do that, how animals, ruled by their own instincts and primal urges can?

This is such an interesting piece to read. Very sad and gory at the same time, but very interesting nonetheless. Fragile souls shouldn't read!
