Uke just finished his masters and landed an internship at a good company where the Seme is his boss.
This is a 10/10 for me. The plot and characters are cliche but it’s done well. I’m the kinda person that loves reading the same thing but in different fonts and this is the prime example of what I love.
Uke witnesses Yakuza Seme kill someone in an alley.
Very heartwarming story. Pretty depressing at times but their romance is sweet.
TW: arguable SA (between main characters), child SA (not between characters)
Uke is the son of a Yakuza boss that just wants to live a normal life and Seme is the Yakuza boss’s right hand man that is hired to protect Uke.
Great banter, good plot, decent art. Uke is endearing and Seme makes being a violent douchebag seem hot. The story is a rare case of me actually appreciating the flashbacks. If consent in fiction is important to you then don’t read past ch. 51
University student Uke works at a convenience store where gangsters frequent and Seme is one of those gangsters.
It’s a classic. Personally, I hate miscommunication so the plot isn’t my favorite but it’s still a great read.
Uke is a non-violent money launderer that begrudgingly works for a Russian Mob Boss Seme.
Story can get a little cringe at times and the characters lack some depth but this was the first manga BL I ever read so it always has a place in my heart. The art is pretty nice too.
TW: SA (not between main characters)
Uke is having an awful day when a Yakuza boss Seme’s kid runs up to him and calls him Mama.
The romance is meh and the plot is goofy but the kid is the star of the show. The little boy is so adorable.
Uke and Seme are friends during school but then traumatic events lead to them losing contact. Uke goes back to hometown after many years and is on a quest for information about the mysteries surrounding the traumatic event from his childhood.
It’s a classic. Art style isn’t my favorite but the plot is amazing, the characters are great, and the slow burn makes the ending so satisfying. Truly a must read.
Tattoo artist Uke is hired by gangster Seme to do a back tattoo to cover up his scars.
Very angsty, art is beautiful, I personally don’t love flashbacks as a method of story telling so the plot wasn’t my favorite. But it’s a relatively nice short read.
TW: SA & DV (Not between main characters)
TW: Drugging/SA (between main characters)
Art student Seme wants the Yakuza Uke to be the model for his final project.
Characters have a lot of depth, the plot is pretty good, and art style is gorgeous. They both have traumatic pasts so it is pretty angsty but it has a little fluff sprinkled in. It’s a very dark story though but it’s enthralling. It would be a top 3 manga for me if one scene was removed.
