- this (and it's sequels, excluding the teacher x student side story) is perhaps my favorite BL title and one of my overall favorite manga
-does the high school romance realistically and well. characters are complex and have their own motivations outside of the relationship
-nakamura asumiko has one of the most unique and beatiful art styles of almost any contemporary manga-ka i'm farmiliar with
-such a sweet and wistful story
-while this story is more "f*cked up" than the titles i usually go for, nakamura asumiko does this kind of story in a way that is intriguing & never seems gratuitous
-the premise of the story- these characters that are linked by sharing the same name- is interesting
SPOILERS BELOW
-while this story does contain sexual violence, to me it doesn't seem to be glorified or eroticized, and instead adds to the development of a character and make certain of his actions and motivations
-along with NightS, probably my favorite of all of yoneda kou's titles
-both characters are interesting and the dynamic between them is intriguing
-i love the strong muscular broad shouldered characters that yoneda kou draws
-i love the detail and care that the author takes in developing the setting and plot that the romance takes place in (both main characters are members of a television production crew). it grounds the story and makes it feel realistic, giving the characters background and context outside of their relationship.
-the art style is unusual, cute, simple, and sometimes chibi like. it is unique and distinct, which is something i appreciate!
Doukyuusei (NAKAMURA Asumiko)!
