«✿✿» Well, it's not exactly a GL story like the ones we got to know in modern times, but "The Rows of Cherry Trees", released in 1957, certainly is a precursor of the genre. Considering how old it is, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice and well-written story! While it may not be a masterpiece, I think it's a beautiful classic manga with GL subtext. I'm glad I got to read it!

Great story by Ikeda Riyoko that somehow is regrettably underrated and a bit forgotten as well, when in actuality it's a masterpiece! A coming-of-age gem! It's sad but beautiful. Deep and emotional. Especially for those who like classics and melodrama, this is a must-read! I like both manga and anime. Apart from some differences between them, I think the
