tw for classism, (medical) racism, amputation, domestic abuse + set in the post-antebellum era in NY, hence the trigger warnings. not graphic but contributes to the overall theme and setting of the webtoon. sometimes when writers refer to classical works it comes off as pretentious or unnecessary but its done so well here i love it... also the father and daughter relationship makes me feel so many things at once the last time i was this affected was when i played tlou for the first time.

definitely one of my all time fav manga because it does the revenge SO well it's so satisfying... and the ending is so cathartic as well. am also obsessed w houseewife drama and this has a lot of it, so definitely a 10/10 in my book. reminds me a bit of parasite, but definitely more sinister & less of a commentary on classism (although it was still there).

obviously tw for nsfw & bdsm... tw for past relationship abuse but not as overt. this was bound to be on the list because i have obsessively read this ever since i discovered it and it's been close to my heart since then. excellent examination of romantic relationships and the power of trust within them. don't usually like fwb but this is done so well i can't help but love it.

tw for past adultery & stalking. adding this because it's one of my all time favorite romances and the slowburn is literally so good idk why it doesn't have a kdrama yet. the two protagonists are so fleshed out and their pasts are written so well i am obsessed... but anyways. looks are deceiving just trust in the process.

tw for miscarriage, mentions of pedophilia, and human trafficking, and what you'd expect from a mystery about concubines & court drama. not graphic but it's definitely there so just a warning. i don't usually like mystery but i'm also obsessed w political drama & backstabbing so i've been reading this for years and it's still beautiful in my eyes, because mao is THE it girl.

the beautiful art paired w the insanely funny characters and absurdly stupid moments makes this so so good like the kokonui is exquisite sometimes. makes so much fun of vampire romances & bl romances at times as well i'm obsessed.

tw for suicidal ideation, past abuse & bullying. looks just like a fun high school romance at first but a really good examination into what we're willing to do for people's love & attention, and how much we're willing to change ourselves (and effectively forget our true selves) for it. alludes to theseus' ship a lot & cunty ml so you know that's fun for me.

if you love neon genesis evangelion & shounen THIS is for you. if you love superheroes and teenagers dealing w/ dramatic transformations in the midst of puberty and being hunted by unethical underground corporations THIS is for you. everything about this is so excellent from the protagonist to the worldbuilding and how blind adults can be to the struggles and identity of the children around them but i digress. please read.

tws for sexual assault, mentions of rape, & abuse. i really like series that delve into how difficult it is to live as a woman and this one takes it a step further by making the protagonists lesbian so its definitely one of the more well-done ones. simplistic art but can be dark at times - hence the tws - yet never gets graphic (mainly alludes to it), although we see how much of an impact it has on the characters lives, hence the tws.

it can be so weird and crazy at times (expected of the mangaka for sakamoto desu ga?) but its such a good revenge story and the relationship between the twins makes me so teary... perfect balance between comedy and drama/thriller i think. also the rich family w/ the mother is very strange & i'm not sure what tws that would warrant. i guess just be aware they're crazy.
