There is a slight romance between her and the smart guy throughout the whole thing, but it's generally not intrusive, so I'm adding this here.

Actually has no romance and a banger story. Genuinely strong female protagonist, physically and mentally, who still has claw her way through an unforgiving society toward her goal. She makes steady but visible progress. Supporting cast is 10/10. Highly recommend this one.
