In the beginning the weird-ass characters threw me off but by the end I was rooting for these guys and was happy with the decent ending. It was for sure a unique concept that was executed well and I was really engrossed in the story and characters’ developments throughout.
Seriously this might be my favourite manga I’ve ever read; it’s got a feel to it that I haven’t seen replicated in anything else. Seeing Masa’s gradual and subtle transformation as the story progresses is so rewarding. It’s been a while since my last reread but I’m pretty sure the last time this manga gave me a chance to really think about human connections and how strength can lie in choosing to love others and take each day as an opportunity to become better
I’m not too pleased at the seemingly sudden ending but at least the journey of this read was a pleasant one. The characters are shitheads but that adds a comforting layer to the story. They feel more human and thus more likeable.
I’m so absolutely obsessed with the gentle portrayal of romance in this manga.
