Takimoto learns of Sakuma's fear of darkness and loneliness and helps by staying with him. Iwase, Sakuma's brother, tells Takimoto about their father locking Sakuma in a dark box to discipline him as a kid. Iwase realizes he can't help Sakuma, and tells Takimoto to protect him.

Katou is bullied relentlessly & ends up committing suicide. After death, he gains supernatural abilities such as the ability to hear people's inner thoughts, which ends up driving him even crazier. He comes across his old bully, Oda, & accidentally kills him with his powers. Oda becomes just like Katou, & they end up in a horrific relationship where they desperately depend on each other.
