A young woman is transported into another world, only she is the villainess, awakening her memories just as her engagement is being annulled. So desperate to avoid the worst possible ending for herself, she proposes marriage to the first prince who is the Demon King. She struggles to gain his affections, right some of the wrongs done under her name, outwit the protagonist and avoid a bad ending. It's kinda cutesy-pie, but a decent read.
A troubled young girl takes refuge in at a flower shop where her deadbeat father is supposed to be working. As she works through some of her own troubles while interacting with the shop owner, she falls, slowly, in love with him, but as he has his own insecurities, he rejects her. They still manage to work together, and in the end, she goes to live with her father who has turned his life around. When she graduates, the shop owner goes to get her.
Falling into a world far different from her own, she is taken in by a noble family who chooses to use her to sell to the king in place of their own daughter. On her wedding night the king is assassinated, so now she must ally with the enemy to survive in a palace teeming with greed, hatred and deadly grasps for power all while striving to find a way back to her own world, but she also happens to find love in the process.
This is about a woman who struggles to survive after so many lives were sacrificed for her. It is in the resolve to live, no matter the circumstance, that she adapts from persona to persona as life tosses her about, until, finally, she takes on the persona of a wife and duchess. She is smart, wise and accepts the roles she is given while proving herself time and time again. It's a good read, but remember to not place modern values into a historic setting.
I put this here because she is the real go getter in the relationship. The man is very sweet and, due to his circumstance, unsure of himself, but adorable with it. She is also unsure at times, but refuses to give up on what she wants, which is him. No battles, no real drama/trauma, no multi-partners, just pure cuteness.
She is a witch, dreaded by humans and favored by the witch queen; he is a knight, the cold hearted nephew of the king and the grandson of the witch queen. There are rules, of both societies, that must be followed and broken before they can fulfill the relationship with one another that they both crave, and some battles must be faced internally before they can be turned toward the world. They both know what they want, they both take some doing to get there, but they share the determination.
A relatively accurate portrayal of life for women in a patriarchal society. No rights, voice, or power of any kind and only good for selling and breeding. No matter their intelligence, there is little to no opportunity to cultivate it and no outlet/platform for it to shine, they are utterly subjugated. Watching this character thrive is interesting, though in truth it would take more than a mask and persona for her to overcome a lifetime of abuse. Good nonetheless.
She is smart, strong, determined and incredibly cute. He is so many kinds of adorable I can't choose which adjective to use, so there. So far, this is a really good story. I do hope it stays that way.
After fucking up the first time, she gets another chance and this time, she's determined to protect what's important to her. So far, so good...
