problematic favs

author clearly is in love with iceland. plot starts out slice of life but starts turning into a different genre, which gives the story some mysterious energy. art is gorgeous. it made me want to go see iceland. too bad author is also a pervert who has a clear fixation on the teen girl love interest.

manga is about being an actor. the drama of competition and siphoning out a character from within you! what does it take to be an actress? i read through the whole manga before finding out that it was discontinued because the author was arrested for pedophilia. u can’t really look at the story the same way ever again

from the first few pages i knew this shit was bad news but i was too curious why people described the main chara as entertainment industry light yagami. 100 chapters later and there is something compelling about the revenge plot and the mind games you have to play in order to rise in the entertainment industry. but honestly the author is a freak. i made the mistake of thinking the incest and pedophilia were obnoxious jokes but the man was not joking like at all.

loved majority of the oneshots but the second one just felt a little voyeuristic. not sure if that’s my own internalized racism but yeah i just felt a little uncomfortable knowing it was a japanese person drawing brown ppl like that. lol

between the mild homophobia and the teacher/student relationship, there is no reason for me to like this manga so much. and yet. the mangaka has a knack for comedic timing and the art style is so charming and cute… i’m a sucker for yakuza daughter stories. really wish the main lead wasn’t her student lmao cuz this manga has so much to offer actually

it’s an age gap relationship and it’s not That Bad and in fact its like a huge reason why there is conflict between them… but Like idk it still feels… a little much… Like they harp on it so much i really wonder if shes actually going to get together with a person she considers very young?? anyways its a shame cuz the art is rly nice and the lesbian culture at the gay bar is charming and refreshing. Sigh

kinda tragic lol i really love the pacing of this manga as well as the techniques the mangaka uses to pull you into the perspective of the main character. i just just really dislike the overusage of the male gaze perving on the female students like… it wasn’t even a main theme. like cmon man
