THIS. THIS was FANTASTIC. i liked the abo work by this author but this work was a complete confirmation for me-- i am officially a huge fan of kuroi yodaka and majo to neko is their best work to date, no doubt about it. i really liked the thicker art style they have, and the story itself, despite the minimal world building, was super interesting and i was really rooting for the main couple. they were so emotionally intimate, i loved it all.
akabeko really knows RANGE, i loved this slice of life-type deal with this work, the snippets of the trio's lives were really enjoyable and i loved kota, he was so cute. does address complexities and struggles of parenthood.
after rejecting jun twice, yoonseul realizes his feelings for the other and chases him in hopes of a third chance.
lawd this was just a shit ton of sugar to my already weak heart, loved the second (third) chance trope and the groveling. i really enjoyed yoonseuls character cause he embodies one of my favorite archetypes: obnoxiously arrogant but genuinely a good person. jun was just so cute and loveable, i had a lot of fun reading this. aside from all that, i feel like the conflict in
first of all: art was fab. 2nd of all: character design was fab, especially the tattoos and piercings. 3rd of all: story was simultaneously so sad yet so nice, i loved the relationship development between the two main characters, so happy they got their good ending. only complaint is that i dont see why the yakuza guy had to turn up at the hospital one last time to rape blondie, just give my man a break fr.
while i feel like the romance was more on the sparser side, i loved how this manga revolved around the main character and his intrapersonal relationships, i feel like the emotions and struggles were handled with a great level of maturity, and the romantic fluff was a great cherry on top.
ngl this might be one of my favorite found family abo/bl with kids, something about it is so overly charming, i loved the daughter in this, she was so cute and i feel like the family dynamics worked really well here. there is that sense of cliche and suspended realism, but this one stood out to me for some reason. i heard there are two more volumes untranslated and i am clawing at the walls waiting for them to upload here.
idk if its because of the kind of mental state i was in, but despite by abhorrence towards cheaters & cheating participants, i was really emotional while reading this and enjoyed it a lot. soichis actions were truly deplorable, and trauma cant excuse that, but it did a good job explaining his psychology and low self esteem. i did like how he reflected and tried to do better for himself, ik its the bare minimum but thats my bae im so proud of him.
this is the kinda josei stuff i like. unconventional couples, the bickering but attracted dynamic, i feel like yes this is super cliche but the characters were so cute together and the story was simple and straight forward. bonus points for fl actually setting boundaries with ml instead of being pushed around.
another 'cliche-but-i-loved-it,' idk this was just serotonin for my heart even if some aspects were overly cheesy. felt like the angst development was over the top and ended too quickly, and the whole 'straight men will leave you' kinda thing (cause duh?) but this pair was so cute i was really rooting for them!
this was so fluffy, one of the better schoolmate bls ive read in a while. had intriguing characters and explored their complexities well despite the (tragically) short run time. wish we got to see more of the twin sisters and & kawase/kuriharas time as a couple.
