A genuine classic. A story of two strangers with the same name who meet on a train and fall in love. The story feels real. You can imagine all of this happening but the story still feels ultimately doomed. We might never get a conclusion but the way this story has made me feel and think is something I will always cherish. It changed me as a person when I read it at 15 and maybe someone else will feel the same about it.
TWs to consider.
Story about a child actor haunted by her past and destabilised by the environment around her. She learns to accept her talents and grow into a grown mature individual. I honestly picked this up because I was bored but I was so happy I did so. The story is one about personal growth and leaning you can’t just get everything but having what you have is enough. What made me love it was women working with women. The romance is adorable and unexpected in the best ways possible.
This story is a whole mess full of troupes and themes of any other shoujo of its time. It’s also one of my comfort mangas and I will fight for its rights. The main thing I loved about the manga was how strong the mc is. She’s a strong confident girl who can stand on her own feet and take on the world with just her fists and the ml loves her for exactly that. Story may feel outdated but is a definite classic and you can see why it has so many adaptions. None of them catch the true cha
A simple story about a girl from a small village coming to Tokyo for highschool and making some unlikely friends. It’s such a beautiful story. The manga is well written and spaced beautifully so it never feels fast or cluttered. Time actually passes and you want to see more. Each character down to the ‘mean girl’ is so clearly worked out and all character thoughts and motivations are explained simply and beautifully. Had to put this one down multiple times just to feel and thin
Manga about a poor orphan going on the wrong date and ending up becoming a half human half ghoul entity. Honestly this was the manga that got me into manga. The plot is well written and well planned. Sui really worked hard and through if the best possible ways to elevate the story. It is rather bloody so be prepared.

A beautiful sequel to the original. The art and writing is insane. I remember being a middle schooler and just scrolling through tumbler after each chapters reading the fan theories on what was going to happen next. Can’t say I was too happy with the ending but it still doesn’t feel out of place or unexpected. A great read.

Story about a time travelling delinquent. Honestly I just love gang mangas and despite at the ending pulled it felt inevitable that the story would progress that way. Has quite a few heart wrenching scenes and I love the characters and how human they feel. Never felt like a drag to read even the action sequences. D and my dad died the same week so uh neither of those felt real either lol.
Tsubaki Izumi is the love of my life and no one gets me or my humor or better than her. Timeless comedy that never gets old. The characters are all such lovable fools and I love them. Something to read when in a slump or if you just need a break. Never fails to get my spirits up and I know I binge it over and over during exam seasons.
I’ve never been a game mechanics fantasy person but this one proves to be the exception that proves the rule. Orv is a genuine delight that is going to break my heart one day. The story flows amazing and the plot never drags or gets too complicated to follow. And of course we all fall in love with our ultimate king Kim Dokja. A must read for the fantasy isekai fan.
I debated adding this one to the list since I don’t love it or plan to read it again but it truly made me think. I was sleep deprived but it did get to me and it does have some real tear jerking moments. Everyone should give it a chance. Love the themes of destiny vs desire and how can one gorge their own paths in the face of an omnipresent god.
