A josei about a beautiful smart hardworking woman picking up a random seemingly homeless kid and taking care of him to relive work stress. This manga made me feel a whole range of emotions. From raging at the boyfriend to just loving the domesticity of having a simple companion who’ll reliably be there and listen to you. A cute older woman younger man story that’s an absolute page turner.
A manga about the shy girl and bad boy falling in love. The story however is so much more than that. It’s about two traumatised children coming together and learning how to heal and trust again, to understand themselves and learn how to forge their own paths for the future despite what others might say. You’ll come out feeling terrible and yet hopeful. You’ll also want to give the mls dad a big hug. A classic.

I got into this series in middle school and in a few days I’m about to fly to a whole new continent for my masters. When I think of it I think about sitting in middle school assemblies arguing overarching themes with kids I don’t talk to anymore, to meeting my best friend cuz I had this manga displayed in my bookshelf. It is a story about volleyball but it’s also about loveable children who grew up with me and who’ll always be there as a reminder. A story about love and h
I love the themes of homosexuality and family. The overarching family is what you make of it and how it’s about love and the bonds you forge. A lovely piece about parenthood and found family.
I read this one expecting a cute romance. What I got instead was 3 hours of constant tears and wearing makeup to class to not look like I’m insane. A story about the effects of world war 2 on a Japanese family and those around them. Beware that this is a whole tearfest and you won’t come out unharmed.
Story about a girl who get teleported to Ancient Greece. It’s a classic for a reason. About a girl adapting to the Morden world and deciding her future and of those around her.
One of the rare good yuris. Story about two high school girlfriends who breakup to date men in the future but are eventually reconnected. The themes of normalcy vs what one truly needs are resonating. Story is ultimately about love and how much you’re willing to fight against the norm to have what you really want and who would be supporting you in the end if not you.
A series about unfairness in life and grief. A great take on how people who have been abused internalise it and how it’s harder to understand things just happen for no reason rather than you deserving them. I liked the man who helped her reminding her that she does look ok for she’s still here fighting.
