Probably the most fitting of the summer nostalgia category. Has a really charming atmosphere and the colors compliment the theme as well. I personally find that I’m not a huge fan of the characters, but the rest of the story makes up for it to me. 3.5/5
I love this story, it’s refreshingly realistic when it matters and the artist makes the characters so expressive. It kept me hooked all the way until the end, and I wish I could read it for the first time again. I usually find a certain element of distance between a reader and a story that I don’t get from this at all; captivating, hits close to home, and ultimately very bittersweet. 5/5
It has a lovely, beautifully summery feel to the whole thing that’s expressed really well through the washed watercolor style. I love the attention to the atmosphere. I feel like the art contributes to the tentative nature of this type of romance, it’s lighthearted and airy and just generally pleasant to look at. It’s also quite cute and heartwarming, delicate, and I think deeply romantic. 4/5
Incredible creepy atmosphere created through art and dialogue that also manages to keep that nostalgic summer feeling, which I like. It’s heavy-handed on making you feel almost as if you’re there yourself, which I imagine is very good for a manga intended to scare. 5/5
One of my all-time favorites. Very cute art style that is accompanied by an extremely detailed and thought-out (and absolutely adorable) story. The author has good usage of motifs that allude to character/relationship development. Perfectly charming and fits the summery theme in my opinion. 5/5
Surprisingly unique. I didn’t think I would like it, but the premise was interesting and it didn’t fall flat as I read it. I felt very inspired by the way the author portrayed that nostalgic feeling. 4/5
Pretty cute and I think the pining contributes to the nostalgic feeling well. It’s not a particularly unique romance, but the atmosphere makes it much more charming. 4/5
The method of storytelling and art style are both eye-catching and unique. Though there doesn’t seem to be an actual overarching plot, I don’t mind at all. It’s cute and pretty lightheartedly funny. 4.5/5
Not usually my type of thing, but was really drawn to how the author creates the summery atmosphere. The chemistry of the characters is really great, too. It’s also incredibly hilarious. You’d expect it to essentially be porn (which it pretty much is) but I feel like it’s much more prominently a comedy. There are some questionable morals, so read at your own risk. 3.5/5
I really like this author, and I’m not normally a fan of the older anime art style, but I find it actually charming in this. It’s romantic and tugs at your heartstrings, I can’t help but feel nostalgic when reading. 4.5/5
